Second-Hand Wedding (formerly Garage Sale) is the first New Zealand feature to be shot on a Thompson Viper – a high end digital camera that records directly to hard drives. “I would imagine it’s the first to be shot in NZ without film or videotape involved,” saysSecond-Hand Wedding producer and owner of camera hire company Rubber Monkey, Nigel Stanford. Rubber Monkey is investing in the independent film by loaning cameras, other equipment and operators. Stanford says he got carried away with the project through the enthusiasm of director Paul Murphy, he was also impressed by the script. International films that used Viper technology include David Fincher’s chilling hit Zodiac.
